Mankind then becomes just a victim of his or her heredity, environment and/or circumstances.
These thought patterns are derived from the “theory” of evolution which postulates that mankind has progressed over the centuries from a primordial ooze.
An intelligent life form has come out of nothingness. Darwin himself rejected his own theory before he died. This thinking has produced the idea that mankind is just a floating entity subject to whatever.
This existential philosophy has produced some of the most heinous crimes that can be imagined. Man is left to his own devises. Man will then do anything that the enemy of our souls cares to put in his mind.
This thinking is inspired by satan and his cohorts. It ends in killing, destruction, desolation and eventual hell. The person who believes there is no God is the most miserable, tormented, confused and damned person this side of hell.
Luke 12:5, "But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear Him, which after He hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear Him."
The lie that there is no hell is one of Satan's most effective weapons. Hell is real, and it is waiting for those who do not accept the Lord Jesus Christ into their hearts and lives before they die.
I have heard many people say, “I don't believe in hell”. That is a choice, but what a person believes will send him or her to hell if it is not the Truth.
There is only one Truth, One Way and One Life. The Bible says that the Truth will make us free.
John 8:31-33, "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in My word, then are ye My disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
When I was going to school, my professor told us to write a paper on whether or not there was an ultimate truth or not. At that time, I was not a Christian, and so I argued that there was no ultimate truth because if one person said something was true, there could always be another to argue the point, and on and on, ad infinitum.
I was sincere, but I was sincerely wrong.
Let's look at the word disease. It is an impairment of health or a condition of abnormal functioning.
Matthew 10:1, "And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease."
It actually means at its root a total lack of ease.
The word ease has a few meanings:
Ease=as a noun:
A noun is a word that is used to refer to a person, place or thing.
1.) Freedom from difficulty, hardship or effort.
2.) A freedom from financial difficulty that promotes a comfortable state.
3.) The condition of being comfortable or relieved (especially after being relieved of distress).
4.) Freedom from constraint or embarrassment.
5.) Freedom from activity (work or strain or responsibility).
Ease=as a verb:
A verb denotes an action or state of being.
1.) Move gently or carefully.
2.) Ease physically.
3.) Make easier.
4.) Lessen the intensity of: calm; as of anxieties and fears.
Psalms 25:12-13, "What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall He teach in the way that He shall choose. His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth."
Those that fear the Lord; their minds will be free from turmoil.
Psalms 103:2-6, "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who health all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed."
Studies have revealed that some cancer seems to be caused by a traumatic experience. It could be a divorce, a death in the family, loss of a job, or any other type of upsetting circumstance. This irritating situation causes a lack of ease in the person's life which leads to a disease or severe problem whether it is physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.
We know that heart disease is increased by stress, anxiety and worry. We all know that when we are not “at ease”, our bodies become tense, our thoughts are negative, and we have indigestion, heart burn, and any of a number of painful symptoms.
The world has many cures that are temporary, but the Bible tells us that we need to stop the progress of the enemy at the root.
Luke 3:9, "And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire."
The root cause is not having ease, and that means you are trying to take the problem upon yourself instead of giving it over to God.
1 Peter 5:7, "Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you."
What is our goal?
To enter into God's rest which is God's ease. It is freedom from our own striving.
Hebrews 4:10, "For he that is entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His."
Rest means=Freedom from activity (work, strain or responsibility).
Our goal should be to enter into the ease found in putting our total trust and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 4:11, "Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief."
We follow the Good Shepherd as He leadeth us into green pastures and beside still waters. He restores our souls.
The Lord is calling for us to enter into His ease and His rest. This is what I call the “Spiritual Model”. It is a remedy for all disease and striving.
How do we enter into God's ease? We stop following our own ways, the ways of others, and we start being led by The Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:14, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
The Spiritual Model emphasizes prevention and the healing process. It gives each person a choice instead of offering only a “victim” mentality. With God, we are not victims, but we are total victors.
Romans 8:37-39, "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
This is a place where there is no disease, or striving. It is a place of love, faith, hope, harmony and total hope in God.
Matthew 11:28-30, "Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light."
