Do the Impossible!

Matthew 17:20, "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."

We all know that all of The Lord's commandments require great resolve and strength of character. I have personally found that the greatest commandments require God's grace to perform correctly.

Matthew 19:26, "But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."

For this purpose Christ came and died that we could overcome in every single area of our lives. God's commandments can only be carried out in His power.

The Lord purposely gave us supernatural requirements so that we could go to Him for His enduement of power to obey Him. Without Him; we can do nothing in the Kingdom of God. This is the plan from on high.

The Lord wants us to become his true brothers and sisters. He wants us to be children of our Father. Jesus asks us to do what He has done, and we can only do what He has done through Him. It is Christ in us that is the hope of glory.

To love your enemies is impossible without the power of God dwelling in you and flowing through you. Only God can love unconditionally, and only God can love those that curse us, hate us and despitefully use us and persecute us. It is supernatural love. It is agape love which comes only from almighty God.

Matthew 5:44-46, "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust."

How do we gain His power to obey? We pray for the ability to follow the Lord and to obey all of His commandments. We pray ahead so that when the time comes, we will have God's power to obey His commandments.

Romans 12 gives us a precise guide to how the Christian is to behave when confronted with evil. We are not to be of the world, but we are to be renewed daily.

How can we have God's power in our lives to be overcomers in each and every situation?

1.) We are exhorted to present our bodies a living sacrifice. How, in Romans 12:1, it says “by the mercies of God”. We cannot offer ourselves unto God without His help. We cannot do anything of real value and lasting effect in the Kingdom of God without the King's (Jesus Christ's) assistance.

Romans 12:1, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service."

When we yield ourselves to God, then His power comes into our hearts and lives. Our lives then can become holy and acceptable unto God.

Without sacrificing ourselves unto God's will and way; we are unacceptable as a sacrifice unto God. This sacrifice is our reasonable service which means it is normative for a born again and Spirit Baptized Christian.

It is not being super Spiritual, but is the necessary requirement to be an overcomer (through Christ) in this life. God's mercy makes us acceptable; not our own power, righteousness or ability. It is His mercy and His power that makes us an acceptable and holy sacrifice unto Him.

2.) We are then told to never be like those in the world. Unless we do what is required in Romans 12:1, we will be unable to do what the Word of God tells us to do in Romans 12, verse 2.

Romans 12:2, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

God is a God of order, and we must have our priorities lined up correctly in order to obey God and to follow His commandments.

We are then told that our minds need to be changed for the better. Why? We can then determine if something is of God or if it is of the flesh, Satan or the world system.

Galatians 1:4, "Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:"

The will of God is not based on what the majority of people think or say.

Matthew 7:14, "Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

The will of God is not popular or easy, and it must be sought after with all of our hearts. All the forces of hell and our flesh are against the will of almighty God.

2 Thessalonians 2:10, "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved."

The will of God is what Jesus prayed for in His historic and timeless prayer in Matthew 6:10, "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."

God's will is imperative to bring in the Kingdom of God upon this earth.

3.) We need to be meek and lowly in our thinking, and surrender all of our own thoughts and desires to the Lord's will and way.

We gain God's grace by humility. Jesus was meek and lowly in heart, and we must be the same in order to gain the grace we need from God to be overcomers through Christ.

Romans 12:3, "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith."

We need to keep in mind at all times that all that we have is given to us of God, and it is given by His grace and not because of our own merits.

4.) We must always remember that we are very important to God, and that He would have died for even one of us. However, we are many members that make up His body. We need each other, and each and every one of us is necessary to the full and proper functioning of the Body of Christ.

We have diverse functions and gifts. We should never put requirements on others that God does not put on them.

Each Christian is given the gift or gifts that he or she needs to function in his or her area of influence in the Body of Christ.

We should never compare ourselves with each other. We should only be concerned with obeying God and following the Lord's commandments to the fullest.

We should love one another with God's love which is not demanding, hypocritical, controlling or manipulative. Where the Lord reigns; there is great freedom for each individual to make his or her own choices.

Romans 12:4-10, "For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another."

If we obey the Scripture above then there would be no competition, backbiting, slander, sectarianism, strife or division in the Body of Christ.

We know this will happen as Jesus prayed that we would all be one as He and the Father are one. He prayed that we would have His love one for another, and the world would then know that He was the Son of the living God!

5.) What should be our daily attitude as we walk in the impossible realm which requires the grace of God?

We are to be diligent, fervent, and we are to have a servant's heart.

We are to be generous, hospitable, and empathetic toward others in their joys and hardships.

We are not to be a respecter of persons, but we are to treat everyone as we would like to be treated. We are never to think that we know anything as we should, but we are to seek the Lord for His wisdom and knowledge.

We are to be honest, straitfoward, and we should try to live at peace with all people.

Romans 12:11-19, "Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men."

6.) We are never to behave with vengence. God is the only One who knows how to avenge evil. He is thoroughly just and knows the beginning and the end of all matters. We do not.

Instead, He tells us to be different than others by His mighty power. The power of The Holy Spirit will enable us to feed our enemies who are hungry, and give refreshing beverages to those who are thirsty. This will make a lasting and effectual impression upon those who experience this type of lovingkindness.

It is God's lovingkindness that brings the lost to The Savior.

Romans 12:19-21, "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.“

We are not of this world, and so those around us will be amazed when we do not respond as all the others do with hatred, revenge and unforgiveness. We pray to God for His power to obey all of His commandments, and He will answer supernaturally as we are praying according to His will and way.

7.) Lastly, we are told to not be overcome by the evil in the world, but to instead overcome the evil with God's goodness.

This sums up the whole chapter as when we give good for evil it is pleasing to God, and it is of the supernatural realm. It cannot be accomplished in our own strength.

Romans 12:21, "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."

We are of the supernatural realm which is the Kingdom of God, and we dwell in righteousness, as well as truth, and we walk as Jesus walked upon this earth. He empowers us to be overcomers as He overcame the world and everything in it.

We gain His power through faith in Him. Trust God, and He will make you an overcomer in this life. We cannot do it, but He has already done all for us.

Dearly beloved of God, God does not ask us to do anything that we can do alone and without Him. Why? Because He loves us, and He gave His life for us that we could be one with Him and one with each other. We were created for His pleasure and to have close fellowship with Him and with each other.

When we are required to go to Him to find true fulfillment, victory and success then He will increase in our lives, and we (our old selves will fade away). To the extent that we seek Him first; it is to that extent that He we will grow into His stature on a daily basis.

God is in the process of creating His family on earth. It will become the greatest and most glorious family of all time. It will be totally impossible for us to accomplish. It will out of necessity be the product of almighty God and Him only.

He will receive all honor and glory forever and ever for the final fulfillment of His plan and purpose upon this earth. We can be part of this great plan as we yield ourselves to God. Hallelujah! Do the impossible today. Trust in God and obey!
